A greater involvement of the in-house counsels, and their associations, through the agreement with ECLA, will enlarge the membership base of our association and thus add new issues and experiences for a successful dialogue with the members and between them.

In-house counsels of the member associations of ECLA are granted special conditions for the IDI membership and will be involved in the activities of IDI, such as the planning of the annual conference, the organization of discussion forums, etc.. IDI also intends to develop, together with ECLA and its member associations, special events focused on the specific needs of company lawyers.

ECLA was created in 1983. It is an international non-profit association governed by Belgian law. ECLA is the umbrella organisation for 17 company lawyers associations in Europe. Through its members ECLA represents more than 20.000 company lawyers in 17 countries.
