The 2016 IDI conference took place in Turin on 3-4 June 2016 and was attended by over 150 participants coming from all over the world. among the attendants there were not only qualified lawyers but also in-house counsels of important companies, all willing to exchange their views and experiences in distribution matters.
On Friday 3 June the main theme ‘Internet sales and distribution’ was developed with all the relevant related matter such as selling through Internet in parallel with a traditional distribution network, selling through third party platforms (E-tailers), controlling access to internet by members of the distribution network, limiting aggressive pricing strategies on the Internet without violating the antitrust rules and many others.
The workshops of Saturday 4 June have dealt with drafting and negotiating minimum turnover clauses in agency and distributorship contracts, managing franchising contracts with franchisees and masters facing financial difficulties and an overview of 30 years of Directive 86/653 on commercial agents. The participants appreciated the practical approach and the speakers were able to created a high level discussion on the topics.
On Friday evening there has been a gala dinner in the marvellous Reggia di Venaria Reale: a wonderful place and a very friendly atmosphere.
