Tony's practice includes the areas of commercial law, franchising, intellectual property, information and communication technology and dispute resolution. He has been involved in franchise, distribution and agency since the early 1980’s. Tony leads one of the largest specialist franchising and distribution and intellectual property legal practices in Queensland. He has delivered papers to franchise conferences, both national and international including at the International Franchise Association and International Bar Association joint conference in Washington DC in May 2010, giving an Australian update. Tony made submissions to and gave evidence before the House of Representatives, Standing Committee on Industry, Science & Technology in Sydney at the Inquiry into Fair Trading Relating to Franchising in 1995 and has made oral and written Submissions and appeared before subsequent Inquiries since, including the West Australian Government Inquiry in 2011. Tony has been involved in franchise mediations since 1990. On implementation of the Franchising Code of Conduct in 1996, Tony was appointed by the Minister and Office of the Mediation Advisor to be a Mediator.
